Takeda Added To Cast Of Latest Will Ferrell Film
Producers from Temple Hill Entertainment added TV/Film actor Scott Takeda to the cast of the feature film Everything Must Go. The dramedy stars Will Ferrell (Elf, Anchorman) as a relapsed alcoholic who, after losing his job and his wife, decides to live on his front lawn while selling all of his belongings.
Also starring are Rebecca Hall (Vicky Christina Barcelona), Michael Pena (Crash), Glenn Howerton (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Christopher Wallace Jr (Notorious). Takeda plays a bank manager who helps Ferrell’s character through a financial crisis.
The film is the feature directorial debut of commercial director Dan Rush. He wrote the screenplay based on Raymond Carver’s short story “Why Don’t You Dance.” Rush’s script placed highly on 2008’s Black List and earned an ultra-rare “Genius” grade from the popular blog ScriptShadow. Rounding out the production team are veteran producers Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey (The Twilight Saga).
9/10/10 Update - “Everything Must Go” had its world-premiere at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival where Lionsgate purchased the film for distribution rights. It will next travel to the UK to play at the London Film Festival, then it returns to our shows to hit theaters in May 2011.
