Takeda Joins Cast Of Disney Film

This month, TV/Film actor Scott Takeda begins shoots on the latest Disney Channel musical movie “Lemonade Mouth.” The film is based on a Mark Peter Hughes book by the same name. It follows five high school sophomores who meet in detention and form a band that becomes a champion for students feeling outcast from the “in crowd.”

It stars three Disney Channel regulars: Bridget Mendler (‘Good Luck Charlie’), Adam Hicks (‘Zeke and Luther’), and Haley Kiyoko (‘Wizards of Waverly Place’). Naomi Scott of Disney Channel UK’s “Life Bites”and newcomer Blake Michael round out the band. TV/Film veterans Tisha Campbell-Martin (‘Rita Rocks’)and Christopher McDonald (‘Happy Gilmore’) play the school’s music teacher and principal. Takeda plays Mr. Yamada, father to Kiyoko’s character Stella.

Leading the on-location shoots are executive producer Debra Martin Chase (‘Princess Diaries 1 & 2’) and Sundance Film Festival winning director Patricia Riggen (‘Under the Same Moon’).
