Takeda Books Costar On New Amazon Studios Comedy
This week, TV/Film actor Scott Takeda is on-location in Pittsburgh, shooting a costar role in “Sprung,” an Amazon Studios single-cam comedy by Greg Garcia (‘My Name Is Earl’ ‘Raising Hope’) and 3 Arts.
This 10-episode comedy is described as a pandemic-themed comedy around a group of formerly incarcerated people who band together to use their criminal expertise for good. It stars Garret Dillahunt (’12 Years A Slave’), Martha Plimpton (HBO’s “Generation”), and Shakira Barrera (‘GLOW’) and Phillip Garcia (NBC’s ‘Telenovela’). Takeda will costar as a so-far undisclosed character in the season finale.
“Everything is still hush-hush, but I’m in heaven working with Greg,” said Takeda. “He’s a comedy genius, and I’m learning so much watching him direct the cast. I’m now on day two of this shoot, and I’m just noticing his attention to detail in how he uses the camera as part of the comedy timing. I can’t wait for people to see this show.”
The episodes are scheduled to begin streaming later next year under a banner now titled IMDb-TV.
10/23/21 UPDATE: It can now be released that Takeda will be playing State Trooper Williams in the season finale of “Sprung.”
