Temple Hill Entertainment added TV/Film actor Scott Takeda to the cast of the feature film Everything Must Go. The dramedy stars Will Ferrell (Elf, Anchorman) as a relapsed alcoholic who, after losing his job and his wife, decides to live on his front lawn while selling all of his belongings.
Also starring are Rebecca Hall (Vicky Christina Barcelona), Michael Pena (Crash), Glenn Howerton (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Christopher Wallace Jr (Notorious). Takeda plays a bank manager who helps Ferrell’s character through a financial crisis.
The film is the feature directorial debut of commercial director Dan Rush. He wrote the screenplay based on Raymond Carver’s short story “Why Don’t You Dance.” Rush’s script placed highly on 2008’s Black List and earned an ultra-rare “Genius” grade from the popular blog ScriptShadow. Rounding out the production team are veteran producers Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey (The Twilight Saga).
Everything Must Go premiers at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. It is scheduled for wide release in 2011.
