Takeda Joins Cast of “Silk Road”
Producers have added TV/Film actor Scott Takeda to the cast of the true crime feature “Silk Road” from Sierra/Affinity. Tiller Russell (‘Operation Odessa’) writes and helms this film, based on the Rolling Stone article “Dead End On Silk Road” by David Kushner. This investigative-thriller centers around a the young criminal mastermind Ross Ulbrich who unleashes the Darknet – an eBay of guns, drug, and crime – and the narcotics officer obsessed with bringing down the kingpin’s billion-dollar empire.
It stars Jason Clarke (‘Zero Dark Thirty’) and Nick Robinson (‘Jerrasic World’) as the officer and kingpin. The top-lining costars are Alexandra Shipp (‘X-Men: Apocalypse’), Jimmi Simpson (‘Westworld’), breakout “Catch-22” star Daniel David Stewart and Katie Aselton (‘Legion’). Paul Walter Hauser (‘I, Tonya’), Lexi Rabe (‘Avengers: Endgame’), and Darrell Britt-Gibson (‘Barry’) costar along with Takeda as Bank Manager Bob.
The producing team includes High Frequency Entertainment’s Duncan Montgomery and Jack Selby, Mutressa Movies’ Alex Orlovsky and Elika Portnoy, and Perfect Season Productions’ David Hyman and Stephan Gans.
The film is scheduled for a 2020 release.
