Takeda Joins Cast Of Feature Film
This month, TV/Film actor Scott Takeda begins location shoots in northern New Mexico for the thought-provoking independent film “Dark Around the Stars.” The dramedy is about a guy named Glen, who plots to commit suicide on his birthday while on a drunken road trip. His decision sends him on a spirited adventure that exposes his troubled soul to the simple beauty of life.
The feature film stars Kathryn Hahn (NBC’s Free Agents), Vinessa Shaw (3:10 to Yuma), Don McManus (The Shawshank Redemption), Emmy-nominated Illeana Douglas (Six Feet Under), Independent Spirit Award-winner Dale Dickey (Winter’s Bone), and Mark Kassen (Puncture) in the lead role of Glen. Takeda plays Natto, a salesman for a “Viagra” type medication – one of the colorful characters Glen meets.
The film is directed by Derrick Borte (The Joneses) and written by Jim Janosky. The script made the 2005 Black List as one of the best unproduced screenplays of the year.
