Takeda In New Trailer For “Dallas Buyers Club”

In preparation for the world premiere of “Dallas Buyers Club” at the Toronto International Film Festival, Focus Features released a new trailer for the drama starring Matthew McConaughey and featuring Scott Takeda.

Jean-Marc Vallée directs the film that also stars Jennifer Garner and Jared Leto. Scott Takeda plays pharmaceutical scientist Mr. Yamata.

The film is inspired by true events of Texas electrcian Ron Woodroof (McConaughey) and his battle with the medical establishment and pharmaceutical companies after being diagnosed as HIV-positive in the 80’s. He fought for access to alternative treatments and created a way for other HIV-positive patients to get access to his supplies.

Focus also released new art for the film including the movie poster and several set stills on IMDb. One includes Takeda.

Additionally, according to Variety, Focus Features has moved the US premiere to November 1st to give the film longer play during the critical holiday season.
