Takeda Guest Stars In “Drop Dead Diva”

TV Film actor Scott Takeda heads to Georgia this week to shoot a guest-starring role in the series finale of the Lifetime legal dramedy “Drop Dead Diva.”

Series producers promise this episode will wrap up all loose ends. “Diva” premiered July 2009 and broke new ground by featuring a main character who fit outside the norm. The pilot episode introduced a beautiful-but-vapid model wannabe Deb who had a fatal car accident, met an ambitious angel, and got brought back to life as Jane Bingham, an intelligent, overweight lawyer, hoping to find the meaning of inner beauty. The show stars Brooke Elliott as Jane and costars Margaret Cho, Jackson Hurst, April Bowlby, and Lex Medlin. Sony Pictures Television produces the series for Lifetime Television.

Series creator Josh Berman writes the series finale. Executive producer Robert J. Wilson directs. Takeda plays Captain Nasami.

The episode is tentatively scheduled to air in June.
