Takeda Books SeriesFest
This week, TV/Film actor Scott Takeda is in Denver for the fourth season of SeriesFest, an annual television festival showcasing the best and boldest episodic television from around the world. This year, the festival expands to six days of pilot competitions, panels and the premieres of NBC’s “New Amsterdam,” Paramount Network’s “Yellowstone” with Kevin Costner, AMC’s “Lodge 49” and an exclusive performance by Lady Antebellum at Red Rocks.
“It’s nice to be back at SeriesFest,” said Takeda. “I was fortunate enough to attend the first season, and it’s very deserving of its nickname ‘The Sundance of Television.’ I’m especially happy to be part of this year’s cast for their Storyteller Initiative.”
Takeda joins other LA and New York actors, including Chelsea Frei of HBO’s “Time Traveler’s Wife” for a staged reading of Paige VanTassell’s comedic pilot script “Volunteered.” Her script won this year’s Storytellers Initiative competition which discovers new comedy writers with a fresh perspective. VanTassell works as a writer’s PA for the USA Network series “Shooter.”
Broadway associate director Schele Williams directs the reading which will be performed at Denver’s Comedy Works for the closing night celebration.
